Closer to the Root of the Problem

The phenomenon of terrorism is evidence of the breakdown of social order. The Western democracies are in a state of moral uncertainty and incapable of taking concerted action against an attack of this sort. We may note that terrorism is not a problem in dictatorships, nor has it been a problem in free societies which were on the rise and successfully solving their social problems. It is clearly the decline of will which makes the acts we call terroristic possible, since terrorists by definition never have a decisive degree of physical force at their disposal. Any authority - state or private - which determines to wipe out terrorism can do so by taking draconian offensive action against the source of the problem. Today we do not seem prepared to handle this problem. Terrorism will succeed and will continue to increase in our society. It is quite obvious at this time that the governments of the free world are essentially ineffective in combating this thing. It becomes therefore clear that the people who are the objects of these acts must take their own measures to save themselves." --Jeff Cooper

When will People Get It?

These guns keep our children safe

This is classic liberal-think: guns are evil. People are good and pure. Therefore, if guns were banned, goodness and purity would abound and we'd have world peace and cosmic harmony and mystic crystal revelations. The Middle East would establish permanent tranquility. Criminals would become law-abiding citizens. Gangs would disappear. Pigs would fly.

So, guns are banned in England, how's that going for them? They have a new line of slash-proof clothing out to protect against knife slashing. Unfortunately, they don't protect against stabbing. Sorry. Maybe they should ban knives. And pointed sticks.

More evidence of the breakdown of social order.

North Korea provokes with impunity

We are building a world in which the wealthiest nations on the planet, from Norway to New Zealand, are all but defenseless, while bankrupt dysfunctional squats go nuclear. Even with inevitable and generous submissions to nuclear blackmail, how long do you think that arrangement will last? In the formulation of Janet Napolitano, we are on the brink of "man-caused disaster."

Righteous Anger

"Be ye angry, and sin not." There can hardly be goodness in a man if he be not angry at sin; he who loves truth must hate every false way. How our Lord Jesus hated it when the temptation came! Thrice it assailed him in different forms, but ever he met it with, "Get thee behind me, Satan."

He hated it in others; none the less fervently because he showed his hate oftener in tears of pity than in words of rebuke; yet what language could be more stern, more Elijah-like, than the words, "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer."

He hated wickedness, so much that he bled to wound it to the heart; he died that it might die; he was buried that he might bury it in his tomb; and he rose that he might for ever trample it beneath his feet.

Christ is in the Gospel, and that Gospel is opposed to wickedness in every shape. Wickedness arrays itself in fair garments, and imitates the language of holiness; but the precepts of Jesus, like his famous scourge of small cords, chase it out of the temple, and will not tolerate it in the Church. So, too, in the heart where Jesus reigns, what war there is between Christ and Belial!

And when our Redeemer shall come to be our Judge, those thundering words, "Depart, ye cursed" which are, indeed, but a prolongation of his life-teaching concerning sin, shall manifest his abhorrence of iniquity.

As warm as is his love to sinners, so hot is his hatred of sin; as perfect as is his righteousness, so complete shall be the destruction of every form of wickedness. O thou glorious champion of right, and destroyer of wrong, for this cause hath God, even thy God, anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

To Ride, Shoot Straight, and Speak the Truth

"Is life so sweet, or peace so dear, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God!" --Patrick Henry

This is the latest book I've been reading: To Ride, Shoot Straight, And Speak The Truth

"Why do you suppose the creeps of the world have declared open season on Americans?"

I'm not far into it yet, but I like it so far.

"We seem to have changed, and not for the better. The Fathers won the country with sweat and blood. The sons seem to think that gives them a free ticket to the fat life - a life without fighting. Now where do you suppose the idea arose that a man can make it without fighting? It was certainly not prevalent in the 1920's or 1930's. It is new, but it is now almost universal. And it is sick. It delivers up the soft to the wicked. It makes the American the laughing stock of the age." --Jeff Cooper

That's not to say we should be a violent people, but that we need to fight for what is right. Do not back down from evil. Life is a struggle.

Wash yourselves, purify yourselves. Put away the evil of your doings from My sight; stop doing evil.

Learn to do good, seek justice, straighten the oppressor, judge the orphan, strive for the widow.
Isaiah 1:16,17

Without respect to Persons

Oath of office for the Supreme Court

"I, [NAME], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will administer justice without respect to persons, and do equal right to the poor and to the rich, and that I will faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all the duties incumbent upon me as [TITLE] under the Constitution and laws of the United States. So help me God."

Judge Sotomayor is exactly what this country doesn't need in the Supreme Court. Of course, that won't stop them from putting her there. Another nail.

He Doesn't Waste Any Time

President Obama is on track to accomplish in his first year of office what President Carter took three years to achieve – portray the United States as a "confused and soft power," an Asian security expert charged after North Korea reported a nuclear weapons test Monday.

Shake It to the Left

Obama's Supreme Court pick: An extremely liberal judge with an inferiority complex - not a surprise.

"I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life," said Judge Sotomayor,

I don't know, it was a bunch of white males who conceived and brought this republic into existence (with, I would add, plenty of guidance from the Word of God), the brilliance of which this judge has absolutely no understanding.

Race or gender doesn't enter into it, I know it's popular to diss the white male these days but it all serves to soothe their inferiority complex - not that they are inferior, not at all - it's a head game.

God is no respecter of persons, He doesn't look at any physical attribute, it matters not one wit. It's the character that matters.

Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him. Proverbs 26:12

Truly I see that God is no respecter of persons;
but in every nation he who fears Him and works righteousness is accepted with Him.
Acts 10:34, 35

I'll Drink to That

Random Thoughts by Thomas Sowell

  • If increased government spending with borrowed or newly created money is a "stimulus," then the Weimar Republic should have been stimulated to unprecedented prosperity, instead of runaway inflation and widespread economic desperation that ultimately brought Adolf Hitler to power.

  • One of the most important talents for success in politics is the ability to make utter nonsense sound not only plausible but inspiring. Barack Obama has that talent. We will be lucky if we escape the catastrophes into which other countries have been led by leaders with that same charismatic talent.

  • Inspiring as it is to study the history of the struggles and sacrifices that created and preserved America, it is also painful to see how all those investments of efforts and lives are being frittered away today for short-sighted and self-centered reasons.

Obama declares Gitmo detainees to be 'fetuses'

In an effort to shut down the U.S. Naval Detention Center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, thereby restoring America's moral standing in the world, President Barack Obama today declared some 240 enemy combatants held at Gitmo to be 'human fetuses'.

In an executive order, the president said, "Since I ordered Gitmo shut down, and people don't want us to bring the inmates here, the only way to extract them from the facility is to change their legal status to one that offers us more choices."

While accused terrorists have access to attorneys, and nearly-limitless legal appeals, a fetus has no legal standing, cannot speak for itself, and is subject to the death penalty without regard to guilt or innocence.

It wouldn't surprise me much, except it wouldn't be Gitmo detainees he declares fetuses, it would be conservatives.

They Think We're Fools. Or Do They Know?

It Takes a Village of Idiots by Burt Prelutsky

I have always found it odd that whenever the producers of TV, movies and records, are accused of setting a bad example for the kids, they always insist that their product is simply entertainment and that entertainment in no way influences youthful behavior. If they really believed it, they’d have to be even stupider than they are.

It’s not just that they’re every bit as aware as the rest of us that advertisers spend billions of dollars a year advertising their merchandise in the media, but additional fortunes are spent on product placement in motion pictures targeted to young people. They also know that advertisers get into bidding wars for the services of a LeBron James.

But the real proof that these people are lying through their teeth when they tell you that the tube lacks the power to influence kids is to be found on their shelves and their walls. All you have to do is check out the various plaques and scrolls with which they adorn their offices. Let a TV show’s young star be seen buckling up when he gets in his car, and the producer is sure to be honored for promoting safe driving. When years ago, the Fonz was shown to have a library card, librarians all over the country saw the number of young readers spike overnight. The producers received a ton of commendations for promoting literacy.

We're spending trillions we don't have to create government programs to spend even more trillions we don't have.

Mark Steyn: Statism the only thing being stimulated

I don't want to give the impression that every job funded by the stimulus is a job coordinating the public awareness of programs for grant applications to coordinate the funding of public awareness coordination programs funded by the stimulus. SEVCA is also advertising for a "Job Readiness Program Coordinator." This is a job coordinating the program that gets people ready to get a job. For example, it occurred to me, after reading the ad, that I might like to be a "Job Readiness Program Coordinator." But am I ready for it? Increasing numbers of us are hopelessly unready for jobs. Ever since last November, many Americans have been ready for free health care, free day care, free college, free mortgages – and, once you get a taste for that, it's hardly surprising you're not ready for gainful employment. I only hope there are enough qualified "Job Readiness Program Coordinators" out there, and that they don't have to initiate a Job Readiness Program Coordinator Readiness Program. As the old novelty song once wondered, "Who Takes Care Of The Caretaker's Daughter While The Caretaker's Busy Taking Care?" Who coordinates programs for the Job Readiness Program Coordinator while the Job Readiness Program Coordinator's busy readying for his job? If you hum it, I'll put in for the stimulus funding.

What happened to Americans? We used to be independent and self-reliant, now we're just a bunch of whining babies who want mother government to take care of our every need, and at no cost to us.

You know what happens to whining babies in the jungle, don't you? No, they don't get raised by monkeys or wolves and live happily ever after. They get eaten.

Another Attack on Christianity

Home: No place for Bible study

A pastor and his wife from San Diego, Calif., claim they were interrogated by a county official and warned that they will face escalating fines if they continue to hold Bible studies in their home.

The couple, whose names are being withheld until a demand letter can be filed on their behalf, told their attorneys that a county government employee knocked on their door on Good Friday, asking a litany of questions about their Tuesday night Bible studies, which are attended by approximately 15 people.

"Do you have a regular weekly meeting in your home? Do you sing? Do you say 'amen'?" the official reportedly asked. "Do you say, 'Praise the Lord'?"

The pastor's wife answered yes.

She says she was then told, however, that she must stop holding "religious assemblies" until she and her husband obtain a Major Use Permit from the county, a permit that often involves traffic and environmental studies, compliance with parking and sidewalk regulations and costs that top tens of thousands of dollars.

"This is the toughest issue we will face," Obama declared in a 50-minute address at the National Archives where he said he had inherited a legal "mess" from the Bush administration that had hurt America's moral standing in the world.

"You ain't seen nothin' yet," to quote Bachman Turner Overdrive.

Guantanamo is the toughest issue he thinks we will face? It's not even the toughest issue we are facing. It shouldn't be an issue at all, just leave it alone. To say that Guantanamo is the reason for terrorist recruitment, as Obama did in his speech, is ridiculous and naive.

Has Obama given up on halting Iran?

Kedar, who served in Military Intelligence for 25 years, said US President Barack Obama was "at peace" with the idea of a nuclear Iran.

"You can tell from how the Americans talk. Look at how [US special envoy] George Mitchell talks, or how Obama talks. I don't see them being pressured by this threat. They have shown no urgent desire to change this reality," he added.

"Obama has given up," Kedar said.

I don't think he ever considered halting them, there was nothing in his mind to give up. This is very unfortunate, indeed, for the entire world because Iran will use the weapons once they have them and it will not be pretty.

Iran's nuclear weapons program, uncovered by Democrats

Lest anyone think that these materials may have innocent uses, Mr. Morgenthau added that "we have consulted with top experts in the field from MIT and from private industry and from the CIA… Frankly, some of the people we've consulted are shocked by the sophistication of the equipment they're buying."

This is too dangerous to ignore.

The president is trying to vote "present" on this issue, but he looks to be missing in inaction.

This is just a distraction from his real interest - destroying the economy of the United States.

So, now we have this new fad, reusable grocery bags. They're supposed to be good for the environment - they're GREEN. Man, I hate that word. They ruined a perfectly good color, but I digress. Anyway, now they are telling us - wait for it - that Reusable grocery bags may cause food poisoning.

If you listen to these idiots you might as well kill yourself because just living hurts the environment in some way, you wouldn't be able to do anything if they had their way. Wait, don't kill yourself, that will release carbon. Maybe just have yourself frozen, but there are too many people. I know, just tell them to SHUT UP.

Timeless Wisdom.

Upstarts frequently usurp the highest places, while the truly great pine in obscurity. This is a riddle in providence whose solution will one day gladden the hearts of the upright; but it is so common a fact, that none of us should murmur if it should fall to our own lot. When our Lord was upon earth, although he is the Prince of the kings of the earth, yet he walked the footpath of weariness and service as the Servant of servants: what wonder is it if his followers, who are princes of the blood, should also be looked down upon as inferior and contemptible persons? The world is upside down, and therefore, the first are last and the last first. See how the servile sons of Satan lord it in the earth! What a high horse they ride! How they lift up their horn on high! Haman is in the court, while Mordecai sits in the gate; David wanders on the mountains, while Saul reigns in state; Elijah is complaining in the cave while Jezebel is boasting in the palace; yet who would wish to take the places of the proud rebels? and who, on the other hand, might not envy the despised saints? When the wheel turns, those who are lowest rise, and the highest sink. Patience, then, believer, eternity will right the wrongs of time. --Charles Spurgeon

From Russia, With Love

American capitalism gone with a whimper

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.

Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blind the foolish.

Come on Americans, open your eyes. Click the link and read the rest - 2 short pages or one here, we all need to hear it. One day you will wake up, too late to stop it and wondering why nobody told you.

Dude!

Your the one leading us into all the debt. And you're not finished either, you haven't done half of what you intend.

President Barack Obama, calling current deficit spending "unsustainable," warned of skyrocketing interest rates for consumers if the U.S. continues to finance government by borrowing from other countries.

“We can't keep on just borrowing from China," Obama said at a town-hall meeting in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, outside Albuquerque. "We have to pay interest on that debt, and that means we are mortgaging our children's future with more and more debt."

Holders of U.S. debt will eventually "get tired" of buying it, causing interest rates on everything from auto loans to home mortgages to increase, Obama said. "It will have a dampening effect on our economy."

Are you running for office against yourself?

Words to Live By

Live Free or Die --Mark Steyn at Hillsdale College

MY REMARKS are titled tonight after the words of General Stark, New Hampshire's great hero of the Revolutionary War: "Live free or die!" When I first moved to New Hampshire, where this appears on our license plates, I assumed General Stark had said it before some battle or other—a bit of red meat to rally the boys for the charge; a touch of the old Henry V-at-Agincourt routine. But I soon discovered that the general had made his famous statement decades after the war, in a letter regretting that he would be unable to attend a dinner. And in a curious way I found that even more impressive. In extreme circumstances, many people can rouse themselves to rediscover the primal impulses: The brave men on Flight 93 did. They took off on what they thought was a routine business trip, and, when they realized it wasn't, they went into General Stark mode and cried "Let's roll!" But it's harder to maintain the "Live free or die!" spirit when you're facing not an immediate crisis but just a slow, remorseless, incremental, unceasing ratchet effect. "Live free or die!" sounds like a battle cry: We'll win this thing or die trying, die an honorable death. But in fact it's something far less dramatic: It's a bald statement of the reality of our lives in the prosperous West. You can live as free men, but, if you choose not to, your society will die.

I never thought about that quote in that way before, either, but it sure sheds light on what is happening to us in modern America. I'm telling ya, those old guys who built this country were a hell of a lot smarter than those in academia are willing to admit. And our so-called elite are a lot dumber and blinder, don't follow them, the quality of your life depends on it.

There are too many good parts to pull out of that speech, best just read the whole thing. It's worth it.

Hans Ledwinka discussed his ideas with Ferdinand Porsche, who used many Tatra design features in the 1938 "KdF-Wagen", later known as the VW Käfer—or Volkswagen Beetle. On 22 June 1934, Dr. Ferdinand Porsche agreed to create the "People's Car" for Hitler.

What's That Giant Sucking Sound?

It's not only a massive tax vacuum getting ready to strip you of your prosperity, it's coming for your soul.

Socialism and Secularism Suck Vitality Out of Society

Religion in the West raised all the great questions of life: Why are we here? Is there purpose to existence? Were we deliberately made? Is there something after death? Are morals objective or only a matter of personal preference? Do rights come from the state or from the Creator?

And religion gave positive responses: We are here because a benevolent God made us. There is, therefore, ultimate purpose to life. Good and evil are real. Death is not the end. Human rights are inherent since they come from God. And so on.

Secularism drains all this out of life. No one made us. Death is the end. We are no more significant than any other creatures. We are all the results of mere coincidence. Make up your own meaning (existentialism) because life has none. Good and evil are merely euphemisms for “I like” and “I dislike.”

Thus, when religion dies in a country, creativity wanes.

Isn't It Always the Way?

Talking Points --Thomas Sowell

When we look back at history, it is amazing what foolish and even childish things people said and did on the eve of a catastrophe about to consume them. In 1938, with Hitler preparing to unleash a war in which tens of millions of men, women and children would be slaughtered, the play that was the biggest hit on the Paris stage was a play about French and German reconciliation, and a French pacifist that year dedicated his book to Adolf Hitler.

When historians of the future look back on our era, what will they think of our time? Our media too squeamish to call murderous and sadistic terrorists anything worse than "militants" or "insurgents"? Our president going abroad to denigrate the country that elected him, pandering to feckless allies and outright enemies, and literally bowing to a foreign tyrant ruling a country from which most of the 9/11 terrorists came?

The vast majority of people just can't see what is plainly spelled out in front of them. The blind, led by the blind.

Thought of the Day

It is well there is One who is ever the same, and who is ever with us. It is well there is one stable rock amidst the billows of the sea of life. O my soul, set not thine affections upon rusting, moth-eaten, decaying treasures, but set thine heart upon him who abides for ever faithful to thee. Build not thine house upon the moving quicksands of a deceitful world, but found thy hopes upon this rock, which, amid descending rain and roaring floods, shall stand immovably secure.

My soul, I charge thee, lay up thy treasure in the only secure cabinet; store thy jewels where thou canst never lose them. Put thine all in Christ; set all thine affections on his person, all thy hope in his merit, all thy trust in his efficacious blood, all thy joy in his presence, and so thou mayest laugh at loss, and defy destruction.

Remember that all the flowers in the world’s garden fade by turns, and the day cometh when nothing will be left but the black, cold earth. Death's black extinguisher must soon put out thy candle. Oh! how sweet to have sunlight when the candle is gone! The dark flood must soon roll between thee and all thou hast; then wed thine heart to him who will never leave thee; trust thyself with him who will go with thee through the black and surging current of death's stream, and who will land thee safely on the celestial shore, and make thee sit with him in heavenly places for ever.

Go, sorrowing son of affliction, tell thy secrets to the Friend who sticketh closer than a brother. Trust all thy concerns with him who never can be taken from thee, who will never leave thee, and who will never let thee leave him, even "Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, and to-day, and for ever." "Lo, I am with you alway," is enough for my soul to live upon, let who will forsake me.

Obama to Propose More Taxes

The Obama administration will propose $60 billion in new tax increases over 10 years on wealthy estates, businesses and others to make up for shortfalls in its fund to pay for an expensive overhaul of the health-care system.

The measures go beyond plans the White House has announced in the past few weeks. Officials said that upon further analysis they realized that they had overestimated savings and tax increases proposed in February to help pay the bill.

Domino's sugar is now offering certified carbon-free sugar.

Now for all you tree huggers, this is a moment when the sunburst through the clouds and angels sing because your movement is now moving ahead with so much steam that there are sure to be supermarkets with only hemp burgers and recyclable diapers -- thanks, Canada -- on the bamboo shelves at any moment. But as we look closer and really think of carbon-free sugar, I'm pretty sure it's impossible. "But this is certified." Yes, I know. I'm pretty sure it's impossible. Why? Well, I seem to recall, I didn't really listen in high school chemistry but when we had to stare at that damn periodic table of elements, didn't we all learn that C stood for carbon. Carbon is an element! You can't ban elements! But C was carbon. Carbon makes up a lot of things. Carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide. Us, you're a carbon-based life form. Oh, how about this one: Carbohydrate. What do you think the carbo stands for? Sugar. Sucrose is a common table sugar. It has the chemical formula of C12H22O11. I don't want to get too scientific here but after all, we're putting science in her rightful place. C12 means carbon, 12 molecules of carbon. H2211, 11 molecules of water. It's H2O times 11. So when you have carbon and water, you get carbo-hydrates, hydrates, like hydropower. Water... carbo... hydrates. So if you have no carbon in sugar, you have... hydrates. Drink a glass of water and pour that on your frickin' cake! Wow, imagine how good those hemp cookies and flaxseed frosting will taste with the new environmentally friendly green certified carbon-free sugar water that has no sugar in it!

Put some Domino's sugar in a pan on your stove and turn it on. Let it burn. What do you have? Carbon.

Downtown Orlando Rape More Brutal Than First Reported

The rape of a woman near Lake Eola Park in downtown Orlando was much worse than police first reported. Eyewitness News has learned the victim was savagely beaten, but Orlando police didn't say anything to anybody to get the word out and warn people for more than 12 hours and then it was only after Eyewitness News was tipped off about the horrific crime and started asking questions.

Take 'em For All Their Worth

Chrysler Restructuring Plan a Power Grab

Under the Obama administration's proposal, Chrysler would, in essence, be given to Fiat, an Italian company, to operate.

So, how is an Italian car manufacturer operating in Michigan any more "American" than a Japanese manufacturer operating in Kentucky?

And why should the federal government give a market preference - through taxpayer financing and warrantee guarantees - to Italian cars produced by American workers in Michigan over Japanese cars produced by American workers in Kentucky?

The Obama administration's proposed restructuring is more than just unjustified, however. It dangerously undermines the rule of law, as explicated so beneficially by Friedrich Hayek in his classic, "The Road to Serfdom."

America is being looted and gutted by the very people running the country and will be left for dead, just like the mafia run a business into the ground, shake out all the money they can wring from it, and burn it down for the insurance.

The problem is in both party's, the difference being the Republicans usually have a little bit of shame in the back of their minds and try to hide it, Democrats just do it right out in the open and deny, deny, deny.

O Generation of Vipers

Obama's Tax Dodgers

Here's a tip for President Obama: Next time you excoriate tax cheats, try to keep Rep. Charles Rangel's name out of the discussion.

Somehow, it doesn't further your case.

Yet that's precisely what Obama did Monday, singling out the powerful Harlem congressman for praise as he announced legislation meant to close what he calls tax "loopholes" for corporations that expand their operations abroad.

Rangel, of course, knows a thing or two about offshore tax shelters: He'd been operating one for years.

The congressman had to fork over nearly $11,000 in back taxes last year after The Post reported that he failed to disclose more than $75,000 in rental income on his Dominican Republic villa.

Plus, he's under investigation by a House committee for allegedly helping a company preserve its offshore tax loophole -- in exchange for a million-dollar gift to a school named in his honor.

But wait, there's more.

Rangel wasn't the only tax dodger lauded by Obama. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, too, won praise for "taking far-reaching steps to catch overseas tax cheats."

Takes one to know one, we guess.

Geithner, after all, was confirmed despite failing to pay, until nominated, some $43,000 in self-employment taxes.

Obama would be wise to tuck those two safely out of sight when he starts talking, as he did Monday, about paying taxes as "an obligation of citizenship."

Still, one problem lingers: Rangel, despite multiple ongoing ethics probes, is chairman of the House committee charged with writing tax law.

And Geithner oversees the IRS.

Maybe the hypocrisy isn't so easy to ignore.

Made a Deal With the Devil?

You're gonna get screwed.
The full Senate voted Tuesday to strip Specter of his seniority, dropping him to the bottom of the pile on every committee he sits on.

Airspace Owners Unite

Timeshare Owner Of Condemned Hotel Wants Answers

Ocoee's City Manager insists they're not anticipating any legal action, because condo and timeshare owners will still own the air space for their units, after the building comes down on Saturday.

What does that even mean? They still own the airspace? Ocoee's City Manager should be sued just for saying that.

Red Light Cameras

If the cameras bring in millions of dollars from red light runners then obviously they are not preventing people from running red lights and the accident rate can't have gone to zero. This is all about money. How about the city in Georgia that made the yellow light shorter to catch more red light runners? Thieves. People are not computers and cannot be governed by computers.

The Sorry President

The President Who Hates His Country

Historian Victor Davis Hanson also noticed something odd about Obama's apology tour. "Despite this fresh climate of atonement, there was a complete absence of a single apology from any other foreign leader...not a word came from Britain about colonialism…nothing from Germany on the Holocaust...not a peep from France about Algeria or Vietnam. Turkey was mum on the Armenian killings...Russia said nothing about the 30 million murdered by Stalin…Nothing came from China about the 70 million who perished under Mao...Mr. Medvedev said nothing about Putin's brutish rule...We saw no concrete evidence of any help — or hope and change — from any foreign leader. Zilch."

In addition, Hanson continues, "We hear nothing about our Gettysburg, or our entry into World War I. Iwo Jima and the Bulge are never alluded to. Drawing the line in Korea and forcing the end of the Soviet monstrosity are taboo subjects. That we pledged the life of New York for Berlin in the Cold War is unknown. Liberating Afghanistan and Iraq from the diabolical Taliban and Saddam Hussein is left unsaid. The Civil Rights movement, the Great Society, affirmative action, and present billion-dollar foreign-aid programs apparently never existed. Millions of Africans have been saved by George Bush's efforts at extending life-saving medicines to AIDS patients — but again, this is never referenced."

Blogger James Lewis says that Obama's "obsessive need to put down his own country shows a stunningly ignorant man who has evidently never spoken to a concentration camp survivor, a Cuban refugee, a boat person from Vietnam, a Soviet dissident, or a survivor of Mao's purges."

RIP: Dom DeLuise - Roly-Poly Bringer of Joy

Actor Dom DeLuise Dead at 75

Dom DeLuise: Our film clip tribute

Dom DeLuise: Rest in peace, roly-poly bringer of joy

My absolute favorite Dom DeLuise movie is Fatso - you'll laugh, you'll cry, what a great movie. Here's a scene:

Here's another:

But We Don't Torture

Abort-able

Up to 16 weeks of pregnancy, a procedure called vacuum aspiration is used to kill babies. After 16 weeks, abortionists kill babies using a procedure called dilation and evacuation. After 20 weeks, the killing of an unborn baby is euphemistically called partial-birth abortion. To avoid murder charges, the abortionist partially delivers the baby, leaving the head inside. A probe is inserted into the baby’s skull to kill him.

(Between the 16th and 24th weeks, "doctors" sometime perform saline abortions. A solution is injected into the uterus to produce contractions to expel the baby. Dead on arrival.)

Water boarding a known, unrepentant terrorist - who thinks he worships his god by killing as many innocent people as possible in the most horrific way possible - in order to get information to save more innocent lives is wrong, but sticking a probe into the head of a beautiful, innocent little baby in order to kill him is a human right? Not just a human right, but the government must subsidize it?

I thought the whole impetus of evolution was survival of the species? Why are our so-called and self-proclaimed intellectuals taking us down the road to collective suicide? America must be sacrificed to the god of globalism.

Stimulating the Economy

China's ultimatum: smoke or be fined

OFFICIALS in a county in central China have been told to smoke nearly a quarter million packs of locally made cigarettes annually or risk being fined, state media reports.

Inevitably, Americans will face similar orders down the road as the Statists struggle to keep their ponzi scheme going. After all:

"The regulation will boost the local economy via the cigarette tax,"

Got to feed the beast.

Change

America will not protect us, warns Rudd

THE Rudd Government has acknowledged that the supremacy of the US has begun to fade and Australia is preparing for an uncertain future in which it can no longer rely on the protection of its main ally.

What They Don't Want you to Know

The things you don't read about Barack Obama

  • Obama's first two major bills alone, the "stimulus" and "omnibus," cost nearly twice as much as was spent on Iraq over six years – $1.2 trillion vs. $650 billion.

  • Obama abandoned his campaign promise of "a net spending cut," his first annual deficit – not counting bailouts – being three times the worst deficit under President George W. Bush.

  • Obama's "tax cuts for 95 per cent" turned out to mean $13 a week from June to December, to be clawed back to $8 a week in January – as compared with President Bush’s 2008 tax rebates of $600 to $1,200 plus $300 per child, which were notably scoffed at during the election campaign by Michelle Obama.

That's just three, go read the rest.

Is George Carlin Back?

Instead of grim warnings about global warming, the firm advises, talk about "our deteriorating atmosphere." Drop discussions of carbon dioxide and bring up "moving away from the dirty fuels of the past." Don't confuse people with cap and trade; use terms like "cap and cash back" or "pollution reduction refund."

Apparently, You can fool a lot of people by just using words that sound better.

P.S. Regarding the cap and trade part:
"There is no cash back with cap-and-trade. The correct way to describe cap-and-trade is, 'cap-and-tax-your-ass-off'." --Rush Limbaugh

P.P.S. From Vox Popoli:
This is such classic left-wing thinking. They genuinely believe the majority of people will cheerfully engage in Holocaust 2.0 so long as "kill the Jews" is properly marketed as "an innovative solution to the very serious problem of global overpopulation." The sad thing is that they believe it because so many of them are capable of falling for it themselves.

Reality Intrudes

Democrats drop funds to close Gitmo

House Democrats are refusing to pay for President Barack Obama's plan to relocate prisoners from the Guantanamo detention facility where enemy combatants are being held.

Aren't these the same people who have been screaming about how horrible and illegal Gitmo is?

No lawmaker wants the accused terrorists in their backyard.

The Only Good Pirate ...

In recent weeks, Canadians caught Somali pirates who had attacked a Norwegian tanker, but released them because they were unable to prosecute them under Canadian law. In another case, Dutch commandos captured and then released Somali pirates who had attacked a Portuguese ship. It seems to me that until the day comes that these Somali punks command battleships or destroyers, the most logical way to deal with them is to blow them and their little speedboats to Kingdom Come.
